Goose Share Video for New Song ‘Arrow’

Connecticut band Goose have released a new single called ‘Arrow’. It’s lifted from their forthcoming full-length Dripfield, following the previously unveiled singles ‘Hungersite’, ‘Borne’, and the title track. Check out Cale Potts’ video for ‘Arrow’ below.

“‘Arrow’ has always been a puzzle for us,” the band’s Peter Anspach commented in a press release. “It took us months of messing with the arrangement to finally dial it in. And then in classic ‘Arrow’ form, once we hit the studio, it changed it again. The resulting version was created the day we recorded it and was one of most exciting days for us all. During the opening hits, we all took pots and pans from the kitchen and just dropped them on the ground of the studio to create a wilder, more outrageous impact.”

Dripfield is scheduled for release on June 24.

Built to Spill Release New Song ‘Understood’

‘Understood’ is the latest single to be released from Built to Spill’s upcoming LP When the Wind Forgets Your Name, the band’s first for new label Sub Pop. They previously shared ‘Gonna Lose’ to accompany the album’s announcement. The new track is inspired by Evel Knievel’s failed canyon jump in frontman Doug Martsch’s hometown of Twin Falls, Idaho. Listen to it below.

Martsch produced When the Wind Forgets Your Name, which he mixed with Lê Almeida and João Casaes (of the Brazilian band Oruã) and Josh Lewis. It’s set for release on September 9.

VR Games are Getting More Popular In 2022 – Here’s What You Need To Know

It seems like only yesterday that virtual reality (VR) gaming was nothing more than a pipe dream. However, in the short space of just a few years, VR has gone from being an unknown quantity to one of the most popular and fastest-growing forms of entertainment around. 2022 looks set to be another banner year for VR gaming, with several high-profile titles scheduled for release. Let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated VR games coming out in 2022 and how this technology will advance.

How VR Works

Virtual reality technology immerses users in a computer-generated environment that gives them a realistic experience of being in another place. This is made possible by special headsets that provide stereoscopic displays (two images, one for each eye) and head tracking, which allows the user’s movements to be tracked in 3D space. Coupled with high-quality audio, this can create a very believable illusion of being transported to another world, which enhances your VR experience significantly. Additionally, some VR headsets also come with hand controllers that further immerse you in the game by allowing you to interact with objects in the virtual world.

VR Gaming Recap

The origins of virtual reality gaming can be traced back to the 1960s when Morton Heilig, considered the “father” of VR, created the Sensorama Simulator. This was a machine that used a stereoscopic display, fans, smells, and stereo sound to give users an immersive experience. However, it wasn’t until the 1990s that VR gaming began to take off in earnest with the release of popular titles such as Doom 3D and Quake. The early 2000s saw a renewed interest in VR gaming with the release of the first commercially successful VR headset, the Nintendo Virtual Boy. Unfortunately, this device was ahead of its time and failed to gain widespread adoption. It wasn’t until 2016 that VR gaming took off with the release of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, which are now considered the two leading VR platforms. Since then, VR gaming has gone from strength to strength, with new titles and experiences being released regularly.

The Benefits of VR Gaming

There are many reasons why VR gaming is becoming more popular. Firstly, it’s an incredibly immersive way to play games, and thanks to the latest technology, it’s getting better all the time. Secondly, it’s a great way to socialize and connect with other people, even if they’re not in the same room as you. Thirdly, it’s a great workout! You might not think of video games as being particularly active, but playing them in VR can give you quite a workout. Finally, VR is just plain fun! It’s a great way to escape the real world for a while and experience something new. For example, you could be flying through the air one minute and swimming with dolphins the next. However, there are also some potential drawbacks to VR gaming that you should be aware of. Firstly, it can be quite expensive to get started, as you’ll need to buy a VR headset and potentially some other equipment as well. Additionally, some people find VR headsets uncomfortable to wear for long periods, so you might want to take breaks if you start to feel uncomfortable.

Why People Love VR Games

There are many reasons why people love VR games, but the immersive experience is undoubtedly one of the biggest draws. When you put on a VR headset, you’re transported into the game world in a way that’s simply not possible with traditional gaming. You can explore new environments, meet new people, and have incredible experiences that you’ll never forget. Additionally, VR gaming is a great workout! You might not think of video games as being particularly active, but playing them in VR can give you quite a workout. For example, you could be flying through the air one minute and swimming with dolphins the next.

What’s Next for VR Gaming?

The future of VR gaming is looking very bright, with several high-profile titles scheduled for release in 2022. Some of the most anticipated VR games coming out next year include “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR”, “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard”, and “Star Wars: Battlefront II”. In addition, there are many other exciting VR games in development, so it’s safe to say that the best is yet to come. These games are popular because they’re incredibly immersive and offer a unique gaming experience that you can’t get anywhere else. If you’re looking for something new and exciting to play, VR is worth checking out.

VR gaming is becoming more popular for many reasons. It’s an immersive way to play games, it’s a great workout, and it’s just plain fun. However, it can be expensive to get started, and you might become too immersed in the game if you’re not careful. Nevertheless, VR gaming is worth checking out if you’re looking for something new and exciting to play.

Online Dating Etiquette in Different Cultures

If you’re single and actively seeking a love interest, where do you like to hang out? Trendy bars with a reputation for a relaxing ambiance? Nightclubs where the guest DJs spin the latest dance chart sensations? How about the online environment? There can be no denying that the latter is growing in popularity. But whether you prefer face-to-face conversation or flirting in the digital environment, there are certain rules you must follow. This is especially the case in the digital world, where you have the opportunity to interact with singles from different countries. Let’s take a deeper dive into global online dating etiquette.

Dating across borders

When it comes to utilizing the Internet to find a love interest, you need to understand one thing. You could find yourself flirting with individuals from anywhere. Whether your ideal partner might be a one-night friend or you’re actively seeking a soulmate, there’s every chance you could be interacting with a lovely Latino, an amorous Aussie, or a sultry Slav. These sites and their app version have become so popular. You couldn’t possibly be aware of the dating etiquette applicable to every culture, but you should at least approach the messaging channels with an open mind. Don’t jump to take offense because someone makes a direct approach or uses an expression that might be considered taboo where you come from. Cut the person you are communicating with some slack!

Western etiquette

Pay attention to some general points. When engaging with the aforementioned Latinos, you’ll often be negotiating a tentative tightrope! While singles from Spain, Portugal, and Italy have a reputation for being hot-blooded and exuberant, they are also from a culture that has long been dominated by the Catholic church. The younger generation will be more open to intimate or suggestive messages, but they will still be attentive to what older relatives might think. The best option? Hold back from being too forward and flirty until you’ve got to know the person a little better. Once you’ve established more of a rapport, you should instinctively know what you can get away with without offending!

Africa and Asia

While it’s difficult to make sweeping statements about entire continents, you should be aware of certain generalizations. Singles from parts of Africa and Asia will be a lot less confident about discussing sexual issues in a forthright way. When it comes to video chatting (offered as a communication option in many online dating outlets), make sure you never point at the other person. This will be considered rude. Many singles from these cultures are used to expressing how they feel more subtly than coming out with it in conversation, especially via text or emails. They’ll be familiar with art or music, dance, or even sculpture being used as a metaphor for aspects of life, especially their love lives. Never be disheartened if the single you are chatting to seems less engaged than you are or wishes to chat about her favorite pieces of art or music. You’ll have to recognize she is using these to flirt with you!

Dating etiquette is no different from how you should behave respectfully in many other walks of life. We’ve offered some pointers about behaving towards prospective partners across the world. Another important aspect of brushing up on your social skills should be keeping abreast of current affairs. This will help you empathize with people from different cultures. Ensure you read a cross-section of interesting and stimulating books. Broadening your mind will keep you mentally sharp and able to invest in your relationships.

Drive-By Truckers Share New Song ‘The Driver’

Drive-By Truckers have released a new seven-minute song called ‘The Driver’, which will appear on the band’s upcoming album Welcome 2 Club XIII. It follows previous single ‘Every Single Storied Flameout’ and the title track. Take a listen below.

“Around the same era of Club XIII, I spent a lot of time driving around late at night when I couldn’t sleep, listening to music loud and often having a beer or two,” vocalist/guitarist Patterson Hood said in a statement. “Sometimes during those drives I’d have these epiphanies about what to do with my life – like listening to Tim by The Replacements not long after it came out and deciding to drop out of school to try and make this whole band thing work.”

Welcome 2 Club XIII is due out June 3 via ATO Records.

Sound of Ceres Release New Song ‘The Glare’

Sound of Ceres have unveiled a new song, ‘The Glare’, the latest preview of their upcoming third album Emerald Sea. Check it out below.

Speaking about the track and accompanying video, project member Ryan Hover said: “In some moon country, uninhabited of men, staring and staring at the frail blue shape which seems like the vapour of something that had burnt itself away, one has constantly a sense of repetition – of one thing moving where another had moved, and so setting up an echo which chimes in the sea and makes it full of vibrations. It is the deceptiveness of beauty, that all one’s perceptions, half-way to truth, are tangled in a golden mesh and slip into the vast fissures of the ocean’s veil.”

Emerald Sea comes out June 17 via Joyful Noise Recordings. The LP includes the previously shared tracks ‘Arm of Golden Flame’ and ‘Sunray Venus’.

“‘Toll’ was originally composed as a song to hold hands with decay and death,” Bock explained in a statement. “Recording alongside Joel Burton who arranged the violin and woodwind parts brought the song to life and allowed for space and freedom within it, while Alex Mckenzie’s flute solo beautifully introduces us into its world. Horsegirl Share Video for New Song ‘Dirtbag Transformation (Still Dirty)’

Horsegirl have dropped a new song, ‘Dirtbag Transformation (Still Dirty)’, taken from the Chicago band’s forthcoming debut LP Versions of Modern Performance. The track follows early singles ‘World of Pots and Pans’ and ‘Anti-glory’. Check out its music video below.

“The three of us filmed the ‘Dirtbag Transformation (Still Dirty)’ video over one day in Penelope’s elementary school,” the band explained in a statement. “The video provides a small look into our Chicago youth scene—it includes members of bands like Lifeguard, Friko, Dwaal Troupe, and Post Office Winter all grouped into oddball bands with weird gimmicks. We always have the best time making our videos with our friends in spaces we feel connected to. All of our friends showed up with various assortments of clothing and props, like wooden spoons, a bowling shirt collection, and an accordion. We wanted to harness the strangeness of everything that was brought to us, and wanted to showcase all of the people and bands that mean so much to us.”

Versions of Modern Performance will be out on June 3 via Matador.
