It’s been a bit of a wait, but French series Lupin is finally back with new episodes. The mystery thriller recently dropped Part 4, which sees the gentleman thief under pressure to unmask a copycat and prove his innocence.
With 6.4 million views this week, the show is among the most-watched on Netflix. It’s also #1 in 22 countries. Could another installment be on the way? Here’s what we know so far.
Lupin Season 5 Release Date
At the time of writing, there’s no official news about a potential Lupin season 5.
That said, the show remains one of the streamer’s biggest international hits. The third season came out in 2023, and star Omar Sy revealed in an interview that they didn’t rush with season 4 because they needed to figure one where the story would go next.
For now, all we can do is wait and see. If all goes well, new episodes could arrive in a couple of years.

What Is Lupin About?
Lupin follows Assane Diop, a charismatic thief who uses elaborate cons to outsmart the powerful. Inspired by the classic French literary character Arsène Lupin, Assane has spent years perfecting the art of stealing without getting caught.
His criminal journey begins with a personal tragedy. When Assane was a teenager, his father was falsely accused of stealing a valuable diamond necklace. He dies in prison, leaving Assane determined to avenge the injustice that destroyed his family. As Assane’s elaborate schemes unfold, he must stay one step ahead of the police. He also needs to protect his estranged partner, Claire, and their son, Raoul.
In season 4, Assane is in prison, with only a short time left to serve. However, a series of coordinated museum robberies are apparently carried out in his name. There’s no other option but to escape and prove that someone is impersonating him.
Without giving away any spoilers, the finale delivers an explosive cliffhanger. That leads us to believe that Lupin season 5 is likely to happen. Otherwise, the fans would have to contend with an abrupt ending, which is not the best way to wrap up a successful show.
