The 65th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday (February 5) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Beyoncé, who led this year’s nominations with nine nods, made history by becoming the most decorated musical artist in Grammys history, with victories in the Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best R&B Song, Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and Best Traditional R&B Performance categories. She has yet to win Album of the Year, though, despite having been nominated in the category four times; Harry Styles ended up taking home the top prize for Harry’s House, which also won Best Pop Vocal Album.
Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, and Kendrick Lamar each walked away with three Grammys, with Raitt winning Song of the Year for ‘Just Like That’ in a surprise victory. The REcord of the Year award went to Lizzo for ‘About Damn Time’, which she also performed during the event. The majority of the 2023 Grammys were handed out during the Premiere Ceremony, with Ozzy Osbourne and Wet Leg both taking home two Grammys. Jack Antonoff won Producer of the Year for the second year in a row, and Tobias Jesso Jr., became the first-ever artist to win the inaugural Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical award. Viola Davis reached EGOT status with a win for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording.
