Bruiser and Bicycle Announce New Album, Release New Single ‘1000 Engines’

0

Bruiser and Bicycle have announced a new LP, Holy Red Wagon, which will be released through Topshelf Records on April 5. Today, they’re sharing the single ‘1000 Engines’ to accompany the news. Check it out and find the album artwork (by Hannah Alsdorf) and tracklist below.

“‘1000 Engines’ was musically inspired by the cacophony of early Mercury Rev, and the texture of the Caribbean band, Exuma,” the band’s Nick Whittemore explained in a statement, adding: “Clockwork has been the accepted symbol for the deterministic happenings of the world, but ‘1000 Engines’ is a song that likens these forces to something else. We imagine an engine occupied by a conscious force. While clockwork appears to move innocuously, an engine moves violently. This world is inhabited by ‘1000 engines,’ and we’re at the mercy of accelerating mechanics.”

Holy Red Wagon, the follow-up to 2019’s Woods Come Find Me and Bruiser and Bicycle’s debut for Topshelf, was produced, engineered, and mixed by Scoops Dadaris.

Dan Carey and Benjamin Romans-Hopcraft Share Debut Single as Miss Tiny

0

Miss Tiny, the duo made up of producer Dan Carey and vocalist/drummer Benjamin Romans-Hopcraft, have released their debut single via Speedy Wunderground. It’s called ‘The Sound’, and you can hear it below.

According to the band, “the song is based around feelings of inner-city claustrophobia. Whether that’s at home, on your way to work, constantly socializing. There’s a certain tone to it all that feels like noise, which I feel like you can either hate or decide to enjoy as a means of running away from your own thoughts.”

Death Valley Girls Release Video for New Song ‘Islands in the Sky’

0

Death Valley Girls have dropped ‘Islands in the Sky’, the title track from their upcoming album, which arrives this Friday (February 24) via Suicide Squeeze Records. They’ve already shared the songs ‘Sunday’‘What Are the Odds’, and ‘Magic Powers’. Check out the Dylan Greenberg-directed visual for ‘Islands in the Sky’ below.

“We wrote ‘Islands in the Sky ‘for our future selves, hoping that if we can share the secrets we have learned from this life, and all our past lives, we wouldn’t have to suffer or feel alone again in our next carnations!” the band’s Bonnie Bloomgarden commented in a statement. “You are not becoming the best version of yourself, you are and always have been, the highest and best you, eternally! You may have forgotten from societal programming, how you were raised, trauma, or ancestral circumstances, but as you grow, try to remember that the highest version of you, is cheering you on! Sending you messages to pay attention to your intuition and trust yourself. To love yourself.”

Greenberg added:

When Bonnie approached me about making a video for this song, I was excited because the song connected with me immediately. The music and lyrics have a beautiful, melancholy optimism that called to mind a certain timelessness found in work by the Sherman Brothers and the late Burt Bacharach, with a rock/punk edge.

The video was made remotely, so I wanted to put together an immersive digital environment for the band and the ghosts to be able to move in. My partner and I dressed in all black and wore ghost costumes they made and double exposed them into the video. It’s an effect that’s been done since the dawn of special effects by pioneers like George Melies, but with the benefit of digital effects allowing me to control them with a virtual camera. I wanted to make sure the movement, tone and visuals all matched the “spirit” (no pun intended) of the song and had a flowing, optimistic energy that I felt emanated from the music.

Hannah Jadagu Announces Debut Album ‘Aperture’, Shares New Single ‘What You Did’

Hannah Jadagu has announced her debut album, Aperture, which will be released on May 19 via Sub Pop. The 12-track effort includes the previously shared single ‘Say It Now’ as well as a new track, ‘What You Did’, which was co-produced with Max Robert Baby at Greasy Studios Paris. Check it out and see the album’s cover artwork and tracklist below.

Aperture will follow Jadagu’s debut EP, What Is Going On?, which came out in 2021. “Every track on this album, except for ‘Admit It’, was written first on guitar, which is an instrumental throughline,” she explained in a press release. “But the blanket of synths I use throughout helps me move between sensibilities. There’s rock Hannah, there’s hip-hop Hannah, and so on. I didn’t want any of the songs to sound too alike.”

Shana Cleveland Shares New Single ‘Walking Through Morning Dew’

0

La Luz’s Shana Cleveland has released a new single, ‘Walking Through Morning Dew’, the latest offering from her upcoming LP Manzanita. Following previous entries ‘Faces in the Firelight’ and ‘A Ghost’, the track comes with an accompanying visual, which you can check out below.

Speaking about ‘Walking Through Morning Dew’, Cleveland explained: “This is a song about Spring and rebirth. In California, Spring is the season when nature comes inside. The house is suddenly full of weird bugs. A line from this song encapsulates the album – ‘Everything is blindingly in bloom.’”

Manzanita is set to arrive on March 10 via Hardly Art.

Overmono Share New Single ‘Calling Out’

0

Overmono have offered another preview of their debut album, Good Lies, which is out May 12 via XL Recordings. It’s called ‘Calling Out’, and it follows the previously released singles ‘Walk Thru Water’ and ‘Is U’. Check out its Rollo Jackson-directed visual below.

“We’ve had these chords written for quite a while now and could never find quite the right context for them,” Overmono explained in a statement about the track. “One night we were procrastinating in the studio, mostly just drinking and slamming some CASISDEAD and slowthai tracks. We’d been listening to them a lot as they have an incredible way of consistently delivering unexpected music and we find that approach really inspiring. Then we had a bit of a eureka moment and realised it might have been the type of sound we were looking to go with alongside that chord progression so we stayed up all night and finally got it done.”

Katie Gately Unveils New Single ‘Cleave’

0

Katie Gately has released a new single, ‘Cleave’, which will appear on her forthcoming record Fawn / Brute. It follows the album’s title tracks, ‘Fawn’ and ‘Brute’. Take a listen below.

“‘Cleave’ is about getting a whiff of someone else’s Scahdenfreude and recognizing the only place to run is far, far away” Gately explained in a press release. “I wrote it as I was mustering up the courage to extricate myself from a friendship that was becoming increasingly and perplexingly hostile.”

She continued: “While I’ve always loved big, brash heartbroken pop songs, I’ve often wished more of them would probe the murky landscape of platonic fractures. I decided to use my own friendship-heartbreak as an offering into this slippery realm. My hope is the song might nudge the listener to stick up for themselves when someone else is hoping they will stay small. Even though this choice can be terribly impractical and lonely, it’s often one of great relief.”

Fawn / Brute is scheduled to arrive on March 31 via Houndstooth.

How to Choose The Best Pill Organizer?

Taking medications regularly can be challenging, especially when there are multiple medications to take at different times of the day. A pill organizer can make medication management more convenient and efficient. However, with so many pill organizer options on the market, choosing the best one can be tough. This article will provide tips on choosing the best pill organizer to meet your needs.

Consider Your Medication Schedule

The first step in choosing a pill organizer is to evaluate your medication schedule. For example, do you need to take pills once or twice a day or at specific times throughout the day? This will help you determine the number of compartments you need in your pill organizer. If you have a complicated medication schedule, you might need a pill organizer with several compartments for each day or even a monthly pill organizer.

Size and Capacity

Pill organizers come in different sizes, so choosing one that suits your needs is essential. For example, if you have a large number of pills to take, you might want to opt for a larger pill organizer. On the other hand, if you’re always on the go, a small pill organizer that easily fits in your purse or pocket might be the better option. So make sure to choose a pill organizer with enough compartments to fit all your medication and accommodate different sizes and shapes.

Material

The material of the pill organizer can make a big difference in terms of durability and ease of use. Most pill organizers are made of plastic, which is lightweight and durable. However, some people prefer metal pill organizers for their durability and sleek appearance. Whichever material you go for, make sure it’s easy to clean and that it won’t crack or break easily. Always remember to go for a premium-quality pill organizer to get the best out of it.

Ease of Use

The pill organizer you choose should be easy to use. Look for a pill organizer with compartments that are easy to open and close and have clear labels that won’t rub off over time. Go for cases that are large enough for your medication. Ensure they are not too large, so the pills move around and get mixed up. Check the pill organizer closely, see the specifications, and ensure it satisfies your needs, then go for it.

Portability

You need to travel with your medications! Keep that in mind. If you travel frequently or need to take your medication on the go, consider a pill organizer that is easy to transport. Look for a compact pill organizer that fits easily in your bag or pocket. Some pill organizers come with a travel case that makes it easier to take your medication on the go. When selecting the best pill organizer to suit your needs, consider the convenience and functionality of an am pm pill box which is designed to simplify medication management and ensure you never miss a dose.

Extra Features

Some pill organizers have extra features that can make medication management even easier. For example, some pill organizers have built-in alarms reminding you when to take your medication. Others come with a lock to prevent unauthorized access to your medication. Decide on these extra features and whether they would be helpful for your medication management, and buy the organizer.

Customization

There is customization available in the pill organizer. If you have unique medication needs, consider a customizable pill organizer. Some pill organizers come with compartments that can be adjusted to fit different pill sizes, while others allow you to label the compartments yourself. Pick the one that you feel will be convenient for you. This can be especially helpful if you have a complicated medication schedule or if you need to take different medications on different days of the week.

Cost

Cost is the major factor you must consider while buying your pill organizer. Pill organizers can range in price from a few dollars to over $100, depending on the features and material. While choosing a high-quality pill organizer is important, ensure it fits within your budget. Do your research and find out the ongoing pricing of the item and buy accordingly.

Conclusion

Choosing the right pill organizer can make managing your medication easier and more efficient. Consider your medication schedule, size, capacity, the material of the organizer, its way of use, extra features, cost, and if it can be customized. Focusing on all these factors, you can easily pick the best kind of pill organizer for your medication. It will help you a lot in your daily medication time.
